LivingOur retirement apartments allow you to
live an independent life, meet new friends, and leave the worries of
home maintenance behind for a very affordable price. A number of
one and two bedroom floor plans offer no lease requirement, paid
utilities, fully-equipped kitchens, spacious living and dining areas,
laundry rooms in each building, and a Club House. The apartments
are cable-ready with carport space available.
Assisted Living &
Assisted Living Plus
  When
the tasks of daily living become difficult, Assisted Living provides
personal assistance while promoting independent living. Assisted
Living Plus offers a higher level of help that often eliminates the need
for more costly nursing home placement.

Respite Care
Not sure Assisted Living is right for you
or your loved one? Respite care allows you to spend a trial period
in one of our assisted living suites. Our respite care program can
also provide caregivers a rest from the day-to-day responsibilities of
providing care, while allowing your loved one to sample living in the
Niles community.
Skilled Nursing Care &
Rehabilitation Services
Licensed and certified as a Medicare and Medicaid provider, skilled
nursing provides the highest level of care. Our team of
professionals works under medical supervision to develop care programs
to meet your needs. Rehabilitation services include physical,
occupational and speech therapies, and restorative nursing helps
residents maintain maximum independence.
Ask about Optimus a computerized medical record
program that tracks care as it is performed. A state-of-the-art medical records documentation program,
Optimus provides resident information to physicians or nurses at
the touch of a button. This truly innovative way of tracking
resident care eliminates piles of paperwork and allows nurses to do what
they do best – caring for our residents!
In 2007, e-Mar, which tracks
medications and ensures the proper medication and dosage is given to the
right person, was added.
Alzheimer’s Care
We
recognize the unique needs of residents afflicted with Alzheimer’s and
related disorders by providing a more specialized type of care for those
residents. A variety of structured therapeutic and social
activities are offered daily to our Alzheimer’s residents.
Home Health Care
Shepherd of the Valley Home Health Care is
a Medicare-certified agency that provides a full spectrum of in-home
services from skilled medical services to personal care. We also
teach our clients and family members about at-home care procedures.
