Located in the bustling suburb of Boardman, this skilled nursing rehabilitation center offers a wide range of services.  While many people make their home at Boardman, the majority of our residents come from area hospitals for rehabilitation.  Physical and occupational therapies couple with skilled nursing in our well-known rehabilitation program; and social needs are not ignored.  A full range of recreational activities and social opportunities provide fun and relaxation. Always looking for ways to enhance care and efficiency, Shepherd of the Valley recently embarked on a project to bring cutting edge technology to its nursing facilities.

Optimus System

In 2005, Boardman became the lead community in a technological innovation when Shepherd of the Valley became the first retirement community in the area to use the Optimus system.  A state-of-the-art medical records documentation program, Optimus provides resident information to physicians or nurses at the touch of a button.  This truly innovative way of tracking resident care eliminates piles of paperwork and allows nurses to do what they do best – caring for our residents!

In 2008, the e-Mar module, which tracks medications and ensures the proper medication and dosage is given to the right person at the right time, was added.
