A non-profit retirement community, Shepherd of the Valley-Howland offers a true continuum of care including:  Independent and Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Services, Respite Care, and Home Health.

The newest of the Shepherd of the Valley locations, Howland provides all the typical amenities of retirement living plus a varied selection of spiritual, emotional, and social options.

Beginning in 2007, the Howland staff embarked on a new adventure - developing Person-Centered Care.  Person-Centered Care (PCC) is a philosophical approach to nursing centers that changes the facility from an institutional based setting to a "homelike" one.  To learn more about PCC, read the informational flyer here.

An active social calendar offers entertainment for our residents.  Family dinners and get-togethers are special in our elegant private dining room.  Renew your spirit in our Chapel.  Our pastoral care staff is trained to meet your spiritual needs through worship, Bible study, and pastoral counseling.  We also enjoy a close relationship with nearby Living Lord Lutheran Church, which conducts Saturday services at the facility.
