The one and only time 92 year-old Louise Joachim rode a motorcycle was 13 years ago during a visit to San Francisco.
Joachim had the opportunity to go for a ride with a younger cousin while visiting California. She said it was beautiful and very exciting. Ever since that ride she has wanted to take another motorcycle ride.
The staff at Shepherd of the Valley Poland had heard that Joachim had always wanted to get back on a bike and wanted to make it happen. They reached out to the Warren Harley-Davison for help. The dealership not only donated gear for Louise to wear on her ride but also helped coordinate a sensational send-off for her.
“I feel like a celebrity today. I don’t feel quite twenty years old, maybe thirty nine! I am so grateful to be able to do something like this,” Joachim said.
Joachim rode in a sidecar alongside alongside the Warren, Ohio HOG group on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11am. They rode for approximately 20 minutes ride starting at the Poland facility.
“It was the greatest and so much fun. Everyone had to stop for us. I’m ready to make reservations for when I am 93,” Joachim said.
